Current Government Guidelines - Last updated 30th June 2020
On the 25 June, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced her intention to lift the guidance on people travelling no more than five miles for leisure and recreational purposes from the 3rd of July. These are indicative dates following continued suppression of Covid 19 cases.
Tourism should fully open on the 15th of July and that is when our bookings diary is open from. Before then, from the 3rd July we don't anticipate campsite facilities to be open, toilets and showers. These shared services should open up on the 15th/16th July. We would recommend provisionally booking campsites for your trip, due to the increase in demand. A lot of places will let you pay a small deposit to hold your pitch.
Cal Mac are opening up their ferry timetables on a rolling two week basis.
Other guidelines are as follows,
Use good judgement avoiding crowded areas.
Use face coverings in shops.
Wash your hands, use antibacterial gel and clean hard surfaces regularly.
If you have symptoms of Covid 19 please return home as soon as possible, contact NHS 24, self isolate and book a test.
Follow physical distancing guidelines.
On 10th June the Tourism Secretary announced plans to re-start Scotland's tourism industry.
The provisional date of 15th July has been set for tourism businesses like us to hopefully resume operations. This depends on public health advice and progression of the Scottish Government's route map to phase 3. The route map at phase 3 states 'people will be able to drive beyond their local area for leisure purposes'.
We will monitor the current situation and post updates here.
